The courses included within our Music Education degree plans are purposefully designed to ensure that students develop the professional skills and personal attributes needed to be outstanding elementary, middle-school, and high-school music educators, as well as top-notch musicians.

Highlights of the Music Education Major

Music Education majors can choose from two degree options: Bachelor of Music Education - Instrumental/General K-12 or Bachelor of Music Education - Vocal/General K-12 (with possible keyboard emphasis).
Students have numerous opportunities to gain experience in classroom settings with outstanding local music educators.
UW-River Falls has an active Collegiate National Association for Music Education (CNAfME) chapter.
Students have weekly lessons with talented music faculty.
The outstanding facilities provide student with high-quality performance opportunities.
A Music Education degree can be completed in as little as four years (including student teaching).

Application: Complete a Universities of Wisconsin application.

Admissions Processing Fee: A non-refundable $50 international admissions processing fee is required.

Passport: Submit a copy of your passport’s biographical page (page with picture, name and date of birth).

Evidence of English language proficiency: Submit approved test scores or evidence of English proficiency. See approved scores and ESL programs.

Certification of Finances Form: Complete and sign the Certification of Finances Form.

Bank Statement: Submit supporting financial documentation that provides proof of liquid funding available to you. Funding must be greater than or equal to the estimated expenses listed on the Certification of Finances Form.

Academic Records: Submit academic records from your secondary school showing a graduation date or secondary education completion date.
