The mission of the FSU Engineering Program is to provide excellent undergraduate education in engineering; to establish close partnership with and provide technical knowledge to industry, government and local business; to contribute to economic development within the state of Maryland, specifically in the Western Maryland region.

Program highlights

  • Work in multi-disciplinary teams with students from other departments to develop your critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Use state-of-the-art engineering technology housed in Compton Science Center, home to the Engineering and Physics departments, where you can find the robotics lab, nanotechnology lab and a variety of other great resources.
  • Participate in research projects and earn the opportunity to present your work at a regional or national conference on an FSU faculty-led trip.
  • Take on a work-study as a lab assistant and gain experience with the technology you will use in your career as a professional.
  • Join other students in the Physics & Engineering Club or the National Society of Black Engineers.
