For those who wish to study significant literature in depth and to develop expertise in their own communication skills in the process, we offer a major in English, which gives graduates a broad humanities background and prepares them for entry into graduate school in English or other professional fields requiring close reading and analysis. We also offer an academic concentration in English, as well as minors in Creative Writing, English, Literature, Rhetoric/Professional Writing, Speech, and Theatre.

- Complete and submit a UNCP application.
- Send in your nonrefundable application fee.
- Submit Certified/Official English-language translation of your high school transcripts/Exit Exams.
- Request your TOEFL and/or SAT/ACT scores be sent to UNCP. (UNCP’s codes are 5534 for the TOEFL and SAT and 3138 for the ACT.)
