Overview
About the program
The Manufacturing and Industrial Management program at Tarleton State University differs from others because we accept many types of workforce credits, technical training, and work experience. These occupationally-specific credits are earned by community college students who are working toward, or have completed, an Associate in Applied Sciences (AAS) degree. Certain credits earned in technical institutions or in the military can also be transferred. Tarleton State University is one of very few universities in Texas that offers an industrial based curriculum.
Program Objectives
Our program aims to:
- Provide a course of study that focuses on technology to enhance the general understanding and interpretation of the industrial complex.
- Offer application-oriented courses and provide professional preparation for students whose interests lie in the systematic application of scientific principles to practical problems.
- Provide a broad knowledge of industrial materials, processes, and products, as well as a sound education.
- Incorporate a hands-on approach to production technology using metal, plastics, and wood to provide graduates with an excellent set of skills and knowledge that can be applied to virtually any field.
- Offer a progressive curriculum that prepares students for a wide range of occupations.
- Maintain a modern, well-equipped computer lab with the newest CAD/CAM software available.
- Create outstanding relationships with both local and surrounding area industries that allow faculty members and students to work with company engineers on design projects.
