As a middle school education or secondary education major, you’ll focus on appropriate teaching styles for middle school (grades 4-8) or secondary school (grades 8-12), and you’ll work with students in a number of classroom and informal learning environments.


You will:

  • Go to the head of the class and get recruited to teach after graduating as a middle school education or secondary education major.
  • Ninety-nine percent of education majors pass the Texas Certification Exam to teach – one of the best pass rates in the state.
  • Get experience in local urban schools or student teach in Canada, Denmark, England, Holland, Mexico, Norway or Sweden.
  • Experience hands-on learning working with students from around the globe at the International Newcomer Academy through Fort Worth ISD.
  • Become competent to teach a variety of students, including students with special needs and second-language learners.
