Overview
The Educational Program program at The City University of New York School of Medicine is designed as an integrated curriculum in medical studies. During the first three years of the Program, students fulfill all requirements for the BS degree in Biomedical Sciences.
After receiving the BS degree, students will be eligible for admission to the MD portion of the program, upon completion of which they will be granted the MD degree. The City College of New York confers both degrees.

General requirements
To be considered for admission to the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program / CUNY School of Medicine, an applicant must:
- Be a high school graduate as of June 30, 2025
- Have a minimum grade point average of 85 through the first three years of high school
- Submit three essays
- Submit five letters of recommendation
- Please note, submitting ACT and SAT scores will remain optional for students in the 2024-2025 application cycle
