Designed for individuals who are passionate about teaching and public education, the Elementary Education (K-6) program at University of North Florida emphasizes critical thinking, culturally responsive instruction and the meaningful integration of educational technology. Students develop deep content knowledge in core subjects while learning how to create engaging and supportive classrooms.

Field experiences are woven throughout the curriculum, beginning early in the program and culminating in a full-time internship during the final semester. These experiences take place in local public schools and give students opportunities to apply what they’ve learned, build strong mentorship connections and gain confidence in their teaching practice.

Graduates of the program earn eligibility for Florida certification in Elementary Education K–6, with endorsements in Reading and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), making them highly competitive in today’s job market.
