Overview
The Theatre program at Western Illinois University aims:
- to develop creativity, artistic skills, and professionalism in students through an active production program that melds scholarship and practice;
- to encourage and develop skills in communication, problem solving, research, and effective writing;
- to enable majors and non-majors to expand and perfect their knowledge of the literary, historical, and philosophical aspects of Theatre through a rich curriculum that has both depth and breadth;
- to foster students’ understanding and appreciation of the arts;
- to enhance the cultural life of the campus and the region.
