Overview

In the Scene Design program from DePaul University, you’ll learn from distinguished and award-winning faculty, many of whom are professional designers and artists. You’ll also have the opportunity to work as assistant and lead scenic designer for one of the more than 40 public productions The Theatre School presents each season.

Key Facts

In your fourth year of the Scene Design program, you’ll complete a scenic design internship in order to gain real-world experience. You’ll have the chance to take part in the annual Graduate Showcase, where you’ll present your designs to artistic directors and other members of the theatre, film and television industries.

All applicants are required to submit official high school transcripts.

The following curricular requirements are strongly recommended:

Four years of English

Three years of mathematics (minimum course work equivalent to Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II)

Three years of science (two of which must be lab science)

Two years of social science

Two years of language study other than English

Common Application School Report.

Submission of SAT or ACT Scores is not required for admission if you are applying from outside the United States.
