Overview

Our unique program blends course work with research opportunity and provides students access to professional quality telescopes, instrumentation and computers. Our students go on to graduate programs, including the best in the country, or to a variety of rewarding careers in and out of science. Our principal strength is an active research faculty who will work one-on-one with undergraduates employing state-of-the-art instrumentation and computers to investigate areas of current astronomical interest. Many of our students are co-authors on research papers based on work performed during their undergraduate careers. In addition, we offer a comprehensive set of course work that will prepare students for a variety of directions in life, including graduate study.

General Requirements

  • Completed Common Application, including Wesleyan’s member-specific questions
  • Secondary School Report and official high school transcript(s)
  • Counselor Recommendation
  • Mid-year Grade Report
  • Two Teacher Evaluations—applicants are encouraged to submit one teacher recommendation from a humanities and social science teacher and one from a math or science teacher
  • $55 Application Fee (non-refundable) or Fee Waiver
  • Interviews – Not required, but highly recommended as they allow exchange of information between student and University.
  • Supplemental Materials – Pieces of work that are relevant for the music, theatre or visual arts programs shall be submitted only when applying for such bachelors or masters degrees.
