Overview

The Mathematics Department from University of Oklahoma offers the following degree programs for undergraduates:

  • Bachelor of Arts Standard Degree : the basic undergraduate mathematics degree;
  • Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Professional Degree : a rigorous undergraduate mathematics degree program for students intent on graduate work in mathematics;
  • Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) and Master of Science in Biostatistics : a five-year accelerated dual-degree program in conjunction with the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the OU Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Submit either the OU Application, Common Application, or Coalition Application. This includes a $40, non-refundable application fee for domestic applicants.
  • Official high school transcript that reflects at least six semesters of work completed and includes your GPA computed on an unweighted 4.0 scale and your class rank
  • Official test scores to us through ACT and/or The College Board. Your test scores may also be included on your official high school transcript
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Official copies of any AP or CLEP test scores
