Overview
The History program from University of Arkansas concentrates on areas such as Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, Europe, or the history of the United States.
The Department of History also offers junior and senior history majors an opportunity to secure valuable experience working in the field of history. Previous interns have worked for the Washington County Historical Society and the Arkansas Historical Association.

General requirements
- New freshman applicants should have a high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and an ACT score of 20 or higher, or the SAT equivalent
Freshman applicants who did not graduate from an Arkansas public school or Arkansas public charter school should complete (or be in the process of completing) a minimum of 16 high school academic units as follows:
- 4 units of English
- 4 units of Math
- 3 units of Sciences with lab experience
- 3 units of Social Science
- Other Subjects: 1/2 unit of Oral Communication, 1/2 unit of Physical Education, 1/2 unit of Health and Safety, 1/2 unit of Fine Art.
