Description

The Chiang Chen Industrial Charity Foundation (蔣震工業慈善基金) was established in 1990 by Dr. Chiang Chen, founder and chairman of the Chen Hsong Holdings Limited. Dr. Chiang came to Hong Kong from his hometown in Shandong Province, China in 1949.

In 2004, the Chiang Chen Overseas Exchange Scholarship was established for the purpose of supporting undergraduate Engineering students.

Because of his hard work and devotion to the manufacturing industry, he is recognized as prominent leader in the industry and a much admired and respected role model for industrialists in China. Today, the Chen Hsong Group is one of the leading manufacturers of plastic injection moulding machines in the world and operates diversified business globally.

Benefits

The scholarship amount is between HK$15,000 and HK$30,000

Eligibility

  • The scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Participation in extra-curricular activities and leadership qualities will also be taken into account.
  • The scholarship shall be awarded to students majoring in Engineering, who have been selected to participate in the University's exchange programme in non-Asian countries for a period of one year.
  • The recipients are required to submit a report of at least 500 words on their one-year overseas studies to the Donor.
