Since admitting its first students in 1980, DCU has grown in both student numbers and size and is now a multi campus environment Glasnevin, located just north of Dublin city. In the last nine years, DCU has twice been named Sunday Times ‘University of the Year’.
Over 50,000 students have graduated from DCU and are now playing significant roles in enterprise and business globally. DCU is Ireland’s most innovative university, and in 2016 will deliver more than 200 programmes to over 16,000 students across its five faculties – Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Health, Engineering and Computing, DCU Business School and the DCU Institute of Education. DCU’s excellence is recognised internationally and it is regularly featured among the world’s top young universities. It is the only Irish university to feature in these rankings which are designed to emphasise the potential and excellence of universities without decades or centuries of established reputation.
Research and Innovation at DCU stems from the academic excellence of its five faculties coupled with a passion for translating knowledge into innovations for economic or societal benefit. Beyond specific disciplinary research, DCU’s activities are focused on some of society’s most pressing needs:

Endorsement by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) is widely recognised as the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business schools including London Business School, Harvard Business School and Stanford Graduation School of Business. DCU is only the second Irish university to receive this validation, joining UCD’s Smurfit Business School.
DCU is an incredibly social, welcoming and interactive university. People from all over Ireland, as well as other jurisdictions, study here. The campus is newly renovated and while some areas are very open, modern and comfortable, others are still very old-fashioned, cold and very concrete looking. The courses on offer are varied and recognised, from media to sports...
The range of courses was good. However during my time in the degree, some of these courses were definitely a waste of time. I give it 4 stars because I did actually find a discipline I am passionate about, learned a lot in and would like to continue studying. Also, I think in recent years the module selection has improved significantly.
Overall definitely learned a lot in a range of different topics. There was enough options to find out your area of interest and choose to specialise in.
