Foreseeing the growing demand for high-quality medical personnel, Mr. Yong-Ching Wang founded the Institute with the aim of cultivating talented individuals in society and named the school after his father, Chung-Gung Wang, to commemorate him. A 2-year nursing internship program organized by the Ming Chi College of Technology in 1983 was the forerunner of the Institute.

The dormitory is not only pleasing to the eye — it is also well-equipped! Each dormitory room is air-conditioned, has a telephone and a bathroom with a separate shower, and can house up to four students. All students have their own bed, desk and chair, closet, and individual Internet access. The dormitory has a cafeteria, a convenience store and a library that is open 24/7.
The Library is a four-story building with two stories underground (six levels in total). With a floor space of 9,204.35 square meters, the Library has books for instructors and students, supports research on teaching, collects learning resources, and provides other relevant services.
The mission of the Center for Health and Hygiene is to empower students to take responsibility for their health and to complement the university’s academic mission of fostering a healthy campus culture by providing unified medical and health promotion services.
In order to improve the quality of students’ extracurricular activities, CGUST not only supports all the student clubs to reveal their own features, but enhances the development of potential courses, and create a diverse, caring, and creative campus culture. The party building activities of students in Changsha University of Science and Technology are very good. Both party members and the student union are assigned to welcome new students, and the arrangement of party members as assistant class teachers has a very important impact on the undergraduate for three years.
I have not yet started my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, but I am already very impressed with its strong reputation in healthcare education. I chose this school because of its excellent training facilities and opportunities for nursing students. I am excited to begin my studies here soon, and I look forward to both the academic challenges and the professional growth it will offer.
