A group of Franciscan Brothers first came to Brooklyn in 1858, opening St. Francis Academy several months later in 1859. It was the first private school in the diocese of Brooklyn. The school, which was opened to educate the boys of the diocese, started in a building on Baltic Street and grew quickly.
St. Francis College offers 72 major and minor fields of study, ranging from classic liberal arts to in-demand professional programs such as Nursing, Health Care Management, Education and many more. We also offer four Masters Degree Programs in Accounting, Management, Creative Writing, and Psychology.

International Student Programs and Services (ISPS) advises all international students with F-1 student visas on immigration, personal, social, and cultural matters while studying at St. Francis College.
ISPS advocates to the college community and helps to connect international students with resources around Brooklyn, New York City, and the greater metro area. In addition, we also help faculty and staff learn more about our international student population.
