Services

Student services

The Office of Student Success at Southwest Minnesota State University strives to engage all students with their overall experience at SMSU. We are here to help students achieve academic success, as well as social and professional growth. We recognize characteristics of all students, providing an atmosphere of inclusion and understanding.

Housing services

As part of our community, you will have many opportunities to influence your living environment. A residence hall is more than a place to live.  It is a place to learn and grow as individuals. We will make every effort to make you feel at home while you live in our halls.

The Residence Life Office is located in the Naoutha residence hall. This office provides long hours of operation and a central location for all our administrative services. Residents can take care of administrative needs, pick up packages, check out equipment (cooking, sports, games, tools, WII and X-Box units), etc., all in one place.

Library services

The McFarland Library promotes the success of the SMSU community by providing access to quality resources, instruction, services, and spaces to support research, teaching, and learning in an inviting, inclusive environment.

ICT services

The ITS provides support for teaching and learning, administration, and research.

Medical services

Health Services provides free and confidential services, including medical evaluations, for registered students. There is a small fee for laboratory tests, certain medications, supplies, and sports physicals. We also assist students with off-campus referrals as necessary. Health Services actively promotes a tobacco and vapor free environment.

Student Life

Campus life

The Southwest Minnesota State University campus is on a 215 acre site located in a northeast quadrant of the City of Marshall, Mn. Included on the grounds are a number of athletic facilities and the ADM Environmental Learning Area.

The campus was master planned and is comprised of 26 buildings – 14 academic buildings, 12 revenue funded facilities and one Child Care Center. Square footage of all facilities is approx 1.2 million. All academic buildings, the Student Center and the Conference Center are connected by enclosed above and below grade links or tunnels. The architectural design of the academic buildings is almost barrier free to accommodate students with disabilities.

Sports facilities

The Southwest Minnesota State University Athletics Department is a proud member of NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

The Mustang Booster Club and Corporate Partner program are a generous group of alumni, former student-athletes and friends who assist in funding all of our varsity programs.

Student clubs

At SMSU we offer a variety of ways for students to enhance their academic experience involvement beyond the classroom.

Accreditation

SMSU is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, the Minnesota Board of Teaching, the Council on Social Work Education, the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), and The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

В целом , можно поставит вузу 3, так как огромное количество направления для развития как научной, так и творческой деятельности студента. Один огромный минус - это оснащенность лабораторий и технических аудиторий.
