History
Clark Atlanta University was formed with the consolidation of Atlanta University and Clark College, both of which hold unique places in the annals of African-American history. Atlanta University, established in 1865 by the American Missionary Association, was the nation’s first institution to award graduate degrees to African-Americans.

Research
The mission of the Division of Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) is to provide leadership in the establishment of partnerships between the faculty, the institution and its constituents, the facilitation of technology transfer and commercialization, and the development and implementation of the operational processes and policies of the research enterprise at CAU including the delivery of pre- and postaward services.

Library services
Constructed in 1982, the Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library is named in honor of the late Robert Winship Woodruff, philanthropist and former CEO of The Coca-Cola Company. The library supports the teaching, learning and research missions of four institutions of higher education that comprise the world’s largest consortium of HBCUs.
ICT services
If they are available, laptops are distributed at the beginning of the Fall and Spring Semesters of each academic year while the program is in progress. In general, laptops will be distributed on a first come first serve basis to first-year, first-time undergraduate students. Students are required to have proof of financial enrollment and a copy of their CAU ID before starting the process.

Campus life
Our goal is to provide excellent customer service as quickly, conveniently and efficiently as possible. As you explore our webpage, you will find the Office of Campus Services consists of several services offered on a daily basis, with direct report areas like the Bookstore, Dining Services, Mail Center, Parking Office, Printshop, and the Panther PAWCard Office. In addition to these areas, Campus Services also manages the contracts for snack and beverage vending, Pure Water units, ATM services (Wells Fargo and Bank of America only), and washers/dryers located in the residence halls.
Sports facilities
The Panthers and Lady Panthers play their home games and matches at L.S. Epps Gymnasium located at 650 Atlanta Student Movement Blvd., Atlanta, Ga., 30314. A parking lot is available on a first come, first serve basis, FREE of charge. Buses should park in the main gymnasium parking lot.
Student clubs
At Clark Atlanta University we believe that in order for our students to be successful post-graduation, we must help build the "Whole Student". We accomplish this by providing students with an educational experience beyond the classroom. Through a host of clubs, organizations and activities that foster cultural awareness, social responsibility and leadership discovery; we believe that the "whole student" is created. Furthermore, these involvements help students build life-long relationships with peers outside of their classroom. At Clark Atlanta University, we have an activity for all our students!
Accreditation
The School of Education at Clark Atlanta University is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). This accreditation covers Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education Post-Baccalaureate Certificate, Secondary Mathematics and Science, Special Education-General Curriculum, Counselor Education, and Educational Leadership. However, the accreditation does not include individual education courses institution offers to P-12 educators for professional development, re-licensure or other purposes.
