History

East Carolina University is a public, doctoral/research university in Greenville, North Carolina, United States. Named East Carolina University by statute and commonly known as ECU or East Carolina, the university is the third-largest in North Carolina. Founded on March 8, 1907 as a teacher training school, East Carolina has grown from 43 acres (17 ha) to almost 1,600 acres (647 ha) today.

Education

From modest beginnings as a teacher training school, East Carolina University (ECU) has grown to become an emerging, national research university with an enrollment of more than 28,000 students. The campus is located in Greenville, North Carolina, less than a two-hour drive to both the state capital, Raleigh, to the west and Atlantic Coast beaches to the east.

East Carolina offers 105 bachelor’s degree programs, 75 master’s degree programs, 18 doctoral degree programs, 1 intermediate degree program [EdS], 2 first-professional degree programs in medicine [MD] and dentistry [DMD], and 77 departmental certificates.

Housing services

On-Campus housing offers the convenience of easy access to classes, libraries, study and recreation areas and special events. New and returning students can apply online for on-campus housing. There are also Greek Fraternities and sororities as well as special interest groups that can help you connect to ECU in special ways.

I have enjoyed all the reading and writing a degree in English entails. Since I transferred in most electives and am going for a BA degree in English, a TESOL Certificate to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages, with a Minor in Hispanic Studies, it has been quite a fun experience for me, especially because of the fact that I am taking a lot of Creative Writing...

Program was a bit of a mess but good mentors and people involved with it
