Established as a University in 1994, CityU now has 3 Colleges and 4 Schools: College of Business, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Science and Engineering, School of Creative Media, School of Energy and Environment, School of Law, and School of Veterinary Medicine, jointly established last year as a partnership with Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine.

Student Development Services (SDS) provides a Personal Counselling Service, staffed by a team of professional counsellors, to help students overcome personal and emotional issues. Young Chung-Yee Health Centre is a medical and dental clinic on campus that provides general medical consultations and dental care services to members of CityU. Fees may vary depending on your enrolment status, including whether you are a regular degree, not-for-degree, or government funded programme student.
