Overview
The Digital Television and Broadcasting major offered by City University of Hong Kong develops and extends students’ creative potential and nurtures their entrepreneurial expertise in such a way that encourages them to explore, discover and present unique peculiarities of social realities.
It prepares graduates to take up the artistic, innovative, technological and management role in the ever changing media sector such as television and broadcasting carried through various channels, such as terrestrial airwaves, satellite, cable, CCTV, the Internet, and mobile platforms.
Upon successful completion of Digital Television and Broadcasting major offered by City University of Hong Kong, students should be able to:
- Explain and describe digital media and broadcasting attributes, characteristics, trends and cultural aspects
- Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to perform effective programming, design and production for digital media and broadcasting
- Create new ideas and solutions to live studio and field digital broadcasting production that discovers and presents unique peculiarities of social realities
- Adopt and exploit emerging IT and digital broadcasting technologies, and engage in life-long learning
- Communicate effectively, deliver and perform critical analysis of programming and content for various digital media and broadcasting applications

General requirements
- An IB Diploma for admission to first-year studies. For Advanced Standing I admission, a minimum diploma point score of 30 (out of 45) is required.
- An accredited Associate Degree/Higher Diploma (AD/HD) or equivalent qualification (final year or graduate).
- Applicants whose entrance qualifications were obtained in a language other than English will need a satisfactory TOEFL score ≥ 79 (Internet-based test), an overall IELTS (band score ≥ 6.5, or another acceptable English qualification.
