Pforzheim University

Today’s design faculty can look back on nearly 140 years of tradition and trace its roots to the Grand Ducal Crafts School, which was founded in 1877. At the turn of the 20th century, the students were taught in the tradition of an architectural draughtsman’s school. The curriculum ranged from shading techniques and the theory of ornamental forms to the design of crafts objects. 

Pforzheim University offers 28 bachelor's and 19 master's degree programs in the schools of Design, Engineering, and Business and Law. It enjoys a high level of acceptance in research and teaching, which also results from the good supervision ratio.

• The STI - Institute for Precious and Technology Metals, Test Laboratory for Material Testing is a testing laboratory accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. 
• The HEED - Institute for Human Engineering and Empathic Design aims to strengthening the start-up culture in Germany and enabling students to develop into innovative and entrepreneurial personalities. 
• The IfP - Institute for Human Resources Research sees itself as a contact for companies in questions of human resources management. 
• The INEC - Institute for Industrial Ecology analyzes energy and material flows at the interface of technosphere and ecosphere.  

The Career Center of Pforzheim University provides students with professional career orientation, improves their key qualifications, promotes their professionalism in career planning as well as the application process and intensifies their network competence.
