The seven-semster International Business programme from Pforzheim University offers a degree in business administration with a specialized focus on international business. The degree course stands out from other universities due to its unique bilingual profile, which offers students a high degree of intercultural competencies as well as a solid foundation in economics. Alongside comprehensive professional training, the programme offers international projects and field trips.
Career
Very good career opportunities in companies and organizations of different sizes and areas open up to graduates of the IB course. Whether in the marketing, sales, finance, human resources, tourism or events industry – all doors are open to you with a degree in international business. Many graduates later work as global product managers, managers in national companies of large corporations, junior consultants in large management consultancies, in controlling or as marketing, sales or purchasing managers for certain regions of the world. A large number of graduates spend a longer period of their working life abroad, for example in Vienna, Zurich, London, Madrid, Prague, Brussels, Geneva, Paris, Oxford, New York, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Singapore, Beijing and Dubai.
Accreditation
Like all our business administration programs, International Business (B. Sc.) is accredited both nationally (AQAS) and internationally (AACSB). All 13 Bacherlor's degree programs are also EFMD-accredited. Particularly good graduates have the opportunity to further qualify in our Master's program Master Information Systems (M. Sc.).
Programme Structure
The foundation: A broad business studies programme that lays the important foundations from Semester 1 to Semester 7.
Integrated internship semester in the 5th semester in Germany or abroad.
Integrated semester abroad in the 6th semester at one of our partner universities.
Approx. 70% of the lectures are identical in all business administration degree programmes (general business administration, economics, law, quantitative methods). 30% of the programme's time is reserved for lectures on the subject matter of the specialisation;
- Education in up to three languages: At the end of your studies, you will speak English (min. C1), French or Spanish, (min. B2+), and German (min. B1)

You will later work in an international environment or abroad and use your analytical skills as well as your foreign language skills. With this profile, you will find potential fields of work in almost all areas with an international connection.

General requirements
The entrance examination for the International Business program assesses the subject-specific study ability. This special selection procedure considers your prior language skills and experience abroad. However, you do not have to come to Pforzheim for the selection interviews.The admission is based on your proficiency in English and either French or Spanish, as well as your mathematics skills. The minimum requirements are:
Proficiency in English, at least B2 level (25%)
Proficiency in French or Spanish, at least B1 level (30%)
Maths grade of the university entrance certificate (45%)

- There are no tuition fees for German citizens, as well as citizens of EU or EEA countries. All students are required to pay a service fee: EUR 116 per semester.
Living costs
Pforzheim
The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
Funding
In general international students may hardly find any financial support for studying within a Bachelor's program in Germany. For some international students the International Programs Office at the university may give a grant for the final study phase ("Studienabschluss-Stipendium/Study Completition Grant"). The financial support is for a max. of one semester.
Applicants must show that they will successfully finish their studies in not more than one year time. Applications can be submitted to the International Programs Office and should cover a motivation letter, a transcript of records and a CV.
