Overview
The Nursing programme at New Mexico State University provides a rigorous academic foundation designed to prepare students for professional licensure and diverse healthcare roles. This curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with essential clinical practice to ensure graduates meet the highest standards of the healthcare industry.
Students can choose from multiple pathways to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The traditional four-year track is ideal for beginning students, while the Roadrunner and Pathways options cater specifically to those who already hold a baccalaureate degree in another field. These varied routes ensure that all learners can find a suitable pace for their professional development.
Why Nursing at New Mexico State University?
New Mexico State University is a full member of the New Mexico Nursing Education Consortium (NMNEC), allowing it to offer a state-wide standardised curriculum. This partnership ensures that students receive a modern education that is recognised across the region for its excellence and consistency.
The School of Nursing provides access to advanced facilities, including simulation laboratories where students can hone their skills in a safe environment. Beyond the main Las Cruces campus, the BSN degree is also delivered at satellite sites in Alamogordo and Grants, increasing accessibility for students across the state.
Teaching is led by a dedicated faculty of experienced practitioners and researchers who focus on evidence-based practice. The programme’s strong reputation is supported by its competitive admission process, which selects candidates based on academic merit and readiness for the challenges of the nursing profession.
