Overview

As a student in the Environmental Geosciences - Environmental Sustainability option at Valdosta State University, you will study environmental science, ecology, resource management, environmental policy, as well as regional and urban planning so that you can understand and address the environmental challenges facing today’s society. We prepare you to pursue careers in environmental management, policy making, conservation, advocacy, and research.

Students in this program receive a combination of theoretical learning and hands-on experiences through work in classes, labs, and in the field. Students learn to analyze complex environmental issues and develop sustainable practices that promote the long-term health of Earth’s environment. Our faculty share their knowledge with you so that you learn theory in the classroom then apply it in labs and the field. The interdisciplinary nature of the field equips graduates with a diverse set of skills and knowledge needed to contribute to a more sustainable future.
