Neuroscience research at the University of York spans research at multiple levels of enquiry including molecular, cellular, circuit level, systems, cognitive and behavioural and bridges the gap between biological and psychological approaches.

Neuroscience is one of three research themes of the interdisciplinary York Biomedical Research Institute (YBRI), and aligns with the Institute for Mental Health Research at York (IMRY). IMRY's goal is to combine the expertise of specialists across the University to address key challenges in mental health.
