University of York awards scholarships, bursaries, tuition fee reductions and discounts that help you cover existing tuition and living costs.

Eligibility

  • Open to International (including EU) and UK (home) students.
  • In memory of Robert Ackrill-Haigh, this scholarship is awarded to a talented 1st year undergraduate string player.
  • All UG Year 1 string players will be considered for the award which will be decided at the end of Semester 2.
  • The successful candidate will receive a one off payment of £1,000.
  • The award will be based on the string player's demonstration of skill, improvement and dedication in their orchestral playing/performance throughout their first year.
  • Candidates must be studying for an undergraduate degree in Music or Music and Sound Recording and have successfully completed Year 1.
