Overview
Philosophy, Politics and Economics (Hons) from University of York programme will enable you to focus more of your degree on the discipline of Economics. You'll have the scope to develop your technical skills with a view to real-world economic applications. You'll also dig deep into the economic decision-making of both individuals and organisations.
Key facts
Learn from internationally-respected experts across three departments. As you study the three PPE disciplines, you'll see how they require different but complementary skills. The mathematical precision of the economist. The insistence on logical argument found in philosophy. The need for solid evidence, typical of all social sciences. You'll also study dedicated PPE modules to enhance your interdisciplinary learning.
Tailor your degree to your emerging specialisms. With a wide range of option modules, this course is highly customisable. You'll have the freedom to tailor your degree to focus on the topics that interest you most. There are also opportunities to gain practical experience and a global perspective with a placement year or year abroad.
Make lifelong connections with the Club of Politics, Economics and Philosophy (PEP). The Club of PPE is an entirely student-run society associated with the School of PPE. They run a variety of events throughout the year, including socials, networking events and even overseas trips. The Club will support you during your studies and enable you to get the most from your degree socially and academically.
