Overview
In this Creative Music Technology program at University of Canterbury you will be able to study acoustics, studio technologies, the latest trends and techniques in digital music making, and learn how to apply these in a creative context.
What will my study involve?
- Study any style or genre of music: whether you are an aspiring composer of electronic music, a beatmaker, a sound designer, a foley artist, a producer, or interested in digital music making.
- Use UC's on-campus recording studio with the latest software and audio devices.
- Work alongside other students on creating or recording music, radio, and podcasts.
- Complete an internship or collaborative project in the industry in your final year.

- The Bachelor of Music is open to everyone (except for the Performance major). Having some previous study or knowledge of music will be especially helpful.
- You will need to upload evidence of your study (academic transcripts and graduation certificates) when you apply in myUC.
- Please include a grading scale with your transcript(s) and translations for any documentation not in English.
- You may also be required to provide evidence of your English language proficiency and other supporting documentation.
