Description

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognise and support promising students from north Wairarapa who intend to complete a programme for a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BE(Hons)) degree in Civil or Natural Resources Engineering at the University of Canterbury.

Benefits

The scholarship is worth financial assistance at a value of $4,500.

Eligibility

Applicants must either:

  • Be currently studying at secondary level in the territory of the Masterton District Council, or in the case of a gap year.
  • Have studied at secondary level in the territory of the Masterton District Council in the year
  • immediately prior to the year of application.
  • In making the recommendation, the selection committee considers:
  • Academic achievement, as indicated by quality of achievement at NCEA Level 2 or in equivalent
  • university entrance qualifications;
  • Involvement in community, cultural, and/or sporting activities; and
  • Demonstrated commitment to, or interest in, the Civil or Natural Resources Engineering
  • programme at the University.
  • If, in any year, there is no candidate of sufficient merit no scholarship is awarded.
