Overview

On the Marketing programme from Douglas College you’ll develop skills in customer relations, selling, advertising, marketing research and management, and be qualified for entry-level marketing positions in a variety of businesses.

Learn how to devise marketing strategies, do market research and design promotional campaigns. Understand a variety of marketing techniques and know how to apply them to the latest trends in e-marketing, customer relationship management and corporate social responsibility.

Business Internship programme

In the Business Internship Programme, you’ll apply the theory and knowledge you’ve learned in class into a real-world business setting. During your unpaid part-time internship, you’ll be assigned tasks and projects that junior management, marketing, business, administrative and/or sales employees complete in the modern workplace.

To be accepted into the internship programme, you must contact the Career Centre early in your studies at Douglas College.

All applicants for admission to the College must satisfy at least ONE of the following criteria:

British Columbia secondary school graduation or equivalent;

One course short of British Columbia secondary school graduation, or equivalent;

Nineteen (19) years of age or older by the end of the first month of the first semester of attendance;

Seventeen (17) years of age on the first day of the first semester of attendance, and has not been enrolled at a school for a minimum of one year;

Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years, or has received an Evergreen or Leaving School Certificate
