Programme Structure

Courses include:

A minimum of two courses (normally defined as six semester units) in each of the three departments selected in the major must be completed in the lower division as foundation for upper division courses. In departments where lower division offerings are insufficient to meet this requirement, the total minimum upper division requirement may be extended.
A minimum of 36 upper division units selected from three departments: (a) with no fewer than nine units from each of the three departments; and (b) with no fewer than six units from each of the three departments completed at San Diego State University; and (c) with minimum overall and San Diego State University grade point averages of 2.0 in each of the three departments. Some departments have specific guidelines for students to follow when selecting major courses.
