Overview

This innovative program -- accredited by Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation -- enables graduates to earn two degrees with as few as 126 hours (only 6 more hours than the minimum needed for any 4-year degree). Graduates receive the initial teacher certification enabling them to be hired in Georgia and sets them on the path to earning their professional certificate after three years of successful teaching.

Combining content, pedagogy, and experiential learning, Valdosta State’s History and Secondary Education program produces graduates who can be immediately successful in the classroom and who are prepared to pursue graduate education in either History or Education!
