Overview

This innovative program in English and Secondary Education -- accredited by Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation -- enables graduates to earn two degrees with as few as 126 hours (only 6 more hours than the minimum needed for any bachelor degree). Graduates receive initial teacher certification, enabling them to be hired in Georgia and setting them on the path to earning their professional certificate after three years of successful teaching.

Combining content, pedagogy, and experiential learning, Valdosta State University’s BA/BSEd program produces graduates who can be immediately successful in the classroom and who are prepared to pursue graduate education in either English or Education!
