Overview
The curriculum exposes students of the Electrical Engineering program at Missouri State University to the breadth of electrical engineering and allows them to pursue electives in several areas or to emphasize a specialty. The areas are defined as circuits, electronics, power, communications-signal processing, controls, electromagnetics, optic/devices, and computer engineering.
Careers
As an electrical engineer, you’ll help channel natural resources into heating, lighting, computing, communication and more.
You will contribute to all of the systems and devices used to direct the energy and information that are critical to people and companies all over the world.
You may work with the generation, transmission, distribution and control of electric energy. This will require knowledge of traditional energy sources as well as renewable energy production technologies, such as wind and solar energy.
Virtually every device used in modern life relies on electronic devices or circuits. You may design and fabricate the integrated circuit chips that make up electronic building blocks, or you may use these circuit chips to design larger and more complex systems and devices.
Some electrical engineers develop and design robots that work in factories, explore hazardous environments and perform tasks that are too dangerous for humans. You may also design the operational systems of everything from industrial plants to airplanes to radar antennas.
