Overview

Athletic Training from Eastern Michigan University is a 3+2 program that will award a student a bachelor’s and master’s degree when completed. These students will meet all the pre-admission requirements at EMU and apply to the program during the winter semester of their third year. If accepted, the student will then start the following summer semester and complete the “professional phase” of the program.

Students will engage in thoughtful dialogue and engage in problem-solving, critical thinking, and analysis concerning all aspects of athletic training.

Students will promote and practice respect and unbiased treatment of physically active individuals regardless of race, color, gender, or religious affiliation.

Students will obtain all skills and knowledge necessary to complete the defined curriculum, sit for the BOC certification examination, and serve as a certified athletic trainer. (SLO)

Students will be able to demonstrate the use of Evidence-Based Medicine in the application of their AT knowledge, skills, and abilities.
