Overview
At Interior Design Technology from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology you will learn the relationships between functional, technical and aesthetic elements in interior environments. You will be trained in products and materials, construction methods, building services and more. Most drawings will be completed on the computer but you will also learn free-hand sketching techniques to create construction drawings, floor plans and more.
Careers
Upon graduating you can work as an assistant to interior designers, architects, engineers or other related design professionals. You can also work with building contractors, home design companies, building component manufacturers and suppliers.
Typical employers include interior design firms, architectural firms, construction companies, millwork companies and product and material suppliers.
