Overview

At Computer Programming and Analysis (Optional Co-op) from Conestoga College students learn through a combination of theory and practice, applying their knowledge to hands-on assignments and challenging projects. Complementary courses in areas such as mathematics, accounting and communications support the core IT courses. All of these skills are then applied to a capstone group project in the last term in which students can build a major business application for a local business, providing them with a realistic, practical experience.

Careers

Students graduate with programming experience and the skills necessary to analyze and design computer applications for business.
Entry-level positions for graduates of this programme include computer programmer, web application developer, software tester and quality control professional.
In addition to these, career path opportunities would include systems analyst and business analyst.

Internationally trained immigrants (newcomers to Canada):

Full-time internationally trained (immigrants) applications are completed through ontariocolleges.ca.
Applicants with documents (transcripts) from educational institutions outside of Canada, or where the language of instruction was not English, must have their documents evaluated by an approved credential evaluation service to demonstrate English language proficiency.
Conestoga College provides credential assessments. To request an assessment, applicants can complete the Assessment of International Credentials for Admissions and Credit Transfer online form. These assessments are for use at Conestoga only, and all documents must be translated into English before evaluation. If applicants require a more diverse assessment, they should have an ICAS or WES evaluation completed.
