User experience design (UX) explores the steps of designing a website or application in order to attract the intended target user groups. UXD studies and evaluates how users feel about the product, looking at such things as ease of use, aesthetics, perception of the value of the system, utility, or efficiency. UX designers explore and test out a variety of different approaches to solving specific user problems. The broad responsibility of a UX designer is to ensure that the product logically flows from one step to the next. They also constantly develop software to keep up with technological advancements and increase user satisfaction.

User experience design incorporates elements from other disciplines like graphic design, visual arts, and information technology. As a multi-disciplinary field, user experience design also incorporating aspects of psychology, anthropology, architecture, sociology, industrial design and cognitive science. Topics covered by programmes in user experience design include: UX processes, user research and strategy, design patterns, usability testing, design tools, and more.

By studying user experience design, future professionals achieve an understanding of user's problems and ways to address them, learn to integrate graphic aspects with application goals, gain effective testing techniques, and more.
