Overview
The three year Education (Hons) programme offered by the University of Birmingham combines ideas and research from education, psychology, sociology, philosophy and history. It has been designed for both UK and international students who have academic interests in education or aspirations to work with children and young people in a variety of fields. There is a compulsory vocational placement during the second year.

Our graduates from the School of Education leverage the skills and practical experience gained through the BA Education degree to pursue successful careers in fields directly related to the programme, including Primary School Teaching, Counselling, Social Work, Speech and Language Therapy, and Learning Mentoring. Many also apply their transferable skills in careers such as Community Development Worker, Museum Education Officer, Youth Worker, and Careers Adviser. Additionally, numerous graduates go on to excel in a range of careers open to top graduates, including banking, accountancy, and public services.
