Description

The University of Birmingham is pleased to announce a number of scholarship awards for Thailand-domiciled students applying for entry to an undergraduate programme at the Birmingham campus starting September. This scholarship is a tuition fee reduction during year 1 and for one-off only.

The University of Birmingham is pleased to announce the award of £5,000 for students applying for entry to an undergraduate programme starting September.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible, candidates must:

  • Have received an offer and selected the University of Birmingham as their firm choice for a full-time undergraduate programme starting September. The student must be entering the first year of an undergraduate programme based at the Birmingham UK campus.
  • Be on track to meet or exceed the academic conditions of their offer to the programme.
  • Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship.
  • Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK.
  • Start their studies at the University in September (the scholarship award may not be deferred).
  • Accept and selected the University of Birmingham as their firm choice by the deadline: 19th July.
  • Upon enrolment in September 2026, pay their net tuition fees for the academic year by 1 November, immediately following enrolment.
  • If a scholarship recipient withdraws from their academic programme of study at the University the scholarship will also be fully withdrawn, and the student will be required to pay any tuition fees owed. The date of the withdrawal (as reported to Taught Student Administration) and the type of programme will determine the amount of tuition fee that will be owed.

This is a competitive scholarship, please ensure you have fulfilled the eligibility requirements outlined above.

To apply for the scholarship, students will need to write an essay outlining “Why Birmingham” in not more than 300 words.
