Overview
The BA (Hons) Film and Television at the University of the Arts London (UAL) is for students with a strong interest in television, cinema and cross-platform production which they want to develop through programme making, film making, the design of multiple-media objects and critical thinking about television and film and the industries which produce and distribute them.
What can you expect?
Its aim is to prepare you for sustainable careers in the media industries, and to ensure you will have the skills, knowledge and understanding to adapt your careers to the constantly changing demands of television, film and cross-platform production.
A graduate of BA (Hons) Film and Television will have:
- Technical skills in programme making.
- A developed understanding of the processes by which programmes and films are made, and a critical and innovative attitude to the sociology and economics of the media industries.
- Advanced skills in team working and collaboration.
- Self-awareness, and a willingness and ability to be a self-motivated lifelong learner, constantly responding to the developments and opportunities presented by the media industries.

General requirements
104 UCAS tariff points which can be made up of one or a combination of the following accepted full level 3 qualifications:
- A Levels at grade C or above (preferred subjects include: English; History; Media; Business; Art and Design, or other subjects within Social Sciences);
- Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (Level 3 or 4).
- BTEC Extended Diploma (preferred subjects: Art and Design, Media);
- UAL Extended Diploma;
- Access to Higher Education Diploma (preferred subject: Digital and Creative Media, Film and Production);
- OR equivalent EU/International qualifications, such as International Baccalaureate Diploma at 24 points minimum.
And 3 GCSE passes at grade 4 or above (grade A*-C).
