Program Overview

Upon completion of the The B.S. Mathematics Major from Ohio University, offered by Honors Tutorial College, students will demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of undergraduate mathematics with a particular area or areas penetrated well beyond the undergraduate level.
Students will produce original, independent research in that chosen area. Students will demonstrate behavior that is consistent with expectations of professional work ethics and responsibility. Maximum opportunities will be afforded for the student to progress well beyond the material found in conventional courses, primarily through the interaction with professors afforded by the tutorials.

Opportunities Upon Graduation

Our students have gone on to pursue careers in academia, business, law, and medicine. Most of our graduates move on to graduate school after receiving their degree, many of them in fields other than mathematics, fields in which the mathematical expertise and research experience imparted by our program can be put to good use.
