Overview
This two-year fast track programme is designed for people who already have a degree in another subject, and lawyers from outside the UK who'd like to broaden their education.
The Law (Senior Status) (Hons) programme at University of Hull is not a typical law school. We offer a personal experience where every student counts. We take the time to get to know you, develop your abilities, help you challenge current thinking and grow confidence.
We provide you with much more than a degree. We’re all about preparation for your career.
Practice legal skills in mock trials and Law Society mooting and client interviewing competitions. Build your experience through mini-pupillages with Wilberforce Chambers and on internships with local law firms and government. And work on real cases – from family mediation to employment tribunals – in our Legal Advice Centre and Mediation Centre.
You can rub shoulders with leading law firms at our yearly careers convention. We’re also partnered with the University of Law which runs a series of bespoke courses to help prepare students for both the SQE exam and other professional qualifications.
Future prospects
- We’ve been teaching Law at Hull since the University was founded in 1927. Our Law graduates form a wide network around the world.
- Our LLB programmes include the foundations of legal knowledge, which are essential for going into legal practice. The skills and knowledge you’ll gain are also highly sought after by employers inside and outside of the legal field – so you’ll open up a whole range of careers.
- Our graduates go on to careers as solicitors, barristers and legal executives. Or they work in areas outside the legal profession like teaching, the civil service, banking or management roles.
