Overview

The Video Game Design program invites you to be a part of the arts in action at Bethany College. 

Whether seeking to be a practicing studio artist, an art therapist, to lead in the arts business or museum community, or seeking a broad range of skills for success in an ever-changing digital art landscape – we have the tools and faculty to help you succeed.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  • The student will demonstrate proficiency in the use of 3D computer modeling, environmental and animation techniques associated with the mechanics of game design.
  • The student will demonstrate proficiency in use of quality art making along with game publishing and intellectual property rights that introduces the student to the Core Values associated with Bethany College.
  • The student will demonstrate the use of video game triggers and leveling logic in order to create an immersive compelling story.

Programme Structure

  • We have several majors to choose from and facilities designed specifically for the visual and digital arts. Students exhibit and interact with nationally recognized artists in a centrally located gallery and with an adjacent Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery. 
  • Our faculty have worked on such major motion pictures as, “Iron Man” and “The Lord of the Rings” to name a few. Learn with working professional artists and build your portfolio in state of the art labs.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

Admissions and support in immigration related matters include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the check in, orientation and registration for new student and returning international students.
  • Explain the benefits and restrictions of F-1 visa status through immigration advising. 
  • Serve as a liaison for international students on campus and in the community. 
  • Advise international students on matter relating to their academic programs that may impact their F-1 status in the U.S. 
  • Provide information on authorized employment opportunities, including practical training. 
  • Aid in the securing of legal documents available to international students.
