Overview

The Biology major at Shenandoah University has been designed to allow students to pursue specialized interests in secondary biology education, microbiology and clinical laboratory sciences, field biology, and the health-related professions including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy and athletic training, and other fields at the graduate level.

Approximately 90 percent of SU Biology students who apply to graduate school are accepted into the program of their choice directly after graduation.

Career Possibilities

Biology graduates work in a variety of areas, including biology secondary education, environmental education, environmental consulting and public health.

After graduate school, they are employed as pharmacists, physical therapists, physician assistants, occupational therapists and doctors. Others work in hospitals as medical technologists or laboratory technicians.

Have your former high school send an official transcript directly to Shenandoah University’s Office of Admissions. If an institution is unable to send original documents, you must have an appropriate school official certify that the copy is an official copy with a stamp and signature.
All transcripts from non-U.S. institutions must also be submitted for an academic credential evaluation to obtain equivalency information regarding courses, credits, grades and degrees earned. For first-year applicants, a general or document-by-document report is sufficient, and must include GPA.
All applicants must demonstrate English proficiency.
Please complete the Supplemental Application for International Students and provide financial documentation in order to start the process of obtaining an I-20.
