Overview
The Gender Equality and Social Justice programme at Nipissing University offers a comprehensive academic framework for students passionate about human rights and activism. This interdisciplinary degree examines how race, class, gender, and sexuality intersect within global systems of power and resistance.
Students engage with a broad liberal education in the Humanities and Social Sciences, focusing on the social and cultural constructions of identity. The curriculum is designed to foster critical thinking and communication skills, enabling graduates to analyse and challenge systemic inequalities in various professional contexts.
The programme is structured into three distinct thematic streams: Culture and Criticism, Power and Inequality, and Human Rights and Social Justice.
