The rigorous and diverse curriculum present students with a solid foundation in the growing fields of cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry. Hands-on laboratory and research training provide students with excellent opportunities to gain scientific knowledge and cutting-edge skills needed for laboratory careers.

There is a growing demand in the job market for careers in molecular biology, cell biology and biotechnology.

You will gain foundational knowledge in the biological and related sciences needed for a solid basis in cellular and molecular biology. You will gain critical-thinking, problem-solving, oral, writing and laboratory-based practical skills, as well as training in professionalism.

Career

Students who complete the Biology - Cellular and Molecular Biology at Slippery Rock University may pursue laboratory careers in research, forensics, and government laboratories. Additionally, some students move onto health and research related graduate school (Masters, PhD, MD/DO, PharmD).

Graduates can also pursue careers in pharmaceutical and biotech research, pharmaceutical and biotech sales, genetic counseling, science writing and many other exciting careers.
