Agri-Business

Delaware State University’s Agribusiness degree provides outstanding preparation for a broad range of careers in the agricultural industry. Agribusiness majors get an advanced education in the science of agricultural production as well as the business principles behind it. They also get hands-on experience by working on Delaware State’s demonstration farms, extension programs, and research initiatives.

Animal & Poultry Sciences

The Animal and Poultry Sciences degree provides outstanding preparation for careers in animal care, breeding, and production. Students learn the most current animal science principles and practices in the classroom, and then apply that knowledge by working directly with animals. Delaware State’s demonstration farms, extension programs, and research initiatives provide students with practical, hands-on education in the animal sciences.

Equine Business Management

Delaware State University’s Equine Business Management degree provides outstanding preparation for a broad range of careers. Equine Business Management majors get an advanced education in the science of Agricultural production as well as the business principles behind it, coupled with courses that apply specifically to the equine industry.

Plant Science: Horticulture

Delaware State University’s Plant Sciences – Horticulture degree offers a unique blend of tradition and innovation. Pre-Veterinary Science

Delaware State University’s Pre-Veterinary Science degree provides outstanding preparation for careers in veterinary medicine, animal health, and related fields. The Pre-Veterinary Science program covers the fundamentals of animal health, nutrition, genetics, and biology. English Language Requirements

    The TOEFL iBT ® measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The test has four sections (reading, listening, speaking, and writing), each with a score range of 0-30, for a total score range of 0-120.

    The TOEFL®PBT is administered in a paper format and measures your ability to use and understand English in a classroom setting at the college or university level. It accurately measures how well you can listen, read and write in English while performing academic tasks.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • A certificate or diploma from an accredited four-year school or senior high school.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
  • Take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), which is required if English is not your native language.
  • Submit the three-section test. DSU requires test scores of 800 on the SAT (math and critical reading combined), test scores of 880 or above on the 2016 redesigned SAT, or a 17 or better composite score on the ACT.
  • Have transcripts evaluated by the World Education Service (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) and then forwarded by the evaluating organization to the Office of Admissions.
  • Submit an I-20 Application, a F-1 Student Seeking Financial Statement and an Affidavit of Support for Free Room & Board.
  • The University will also consider international applicants who have taken the General Education Development (GED) test.
