Overview

From advising on the cost of new development proposals to assessing the viability of repairs and renovations, building surveyors are at the heart of decision-making in construction projects.

On this Building Surveying (Hons) degree course offered at University of Portsmouth, you'll:

  • Gain valuable experience with an optional salaried work placement at the end of your 2nd year
Placement year

Get hands-on experience with an optional placement at the end of your 2nd year. This’ll help you stand out from the crowd when you graduate and give you valuable experience in the industry.

Previous students have secured placements with companies such as Potter Raper Partnership, Simpson Hilder Associates and Mace Group.

You’ll get mentoring and support throughout the year.

As a RICS-accredited course, this degree is the first step to becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor. You could also work in project and facilities management after the course.

    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.
